LOCATION AND TRANSPORTATION
Known as a fishing and get-away retreat for families, sportsman and celebrities, the Chesapeake Beach Resort in Islamorada is conveniently located just one and one-half hours south of Miami International Airport on the Overseas Highway - an easy, scenic drive for any traveler.
From Miami International Airport follow the signs to the Florida Turnpike on Rt. 836 West. From the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood Airport, take 595 West. Then take the Florida Turnpike South. Exit on US1 South at Florida City and enjoy the drive to Mile Marker 83.5. US1 South becomes the Overseas Highway, one of the most scenic routes in the United States. Continue south, the resort is adjacent to the famous Whale Harbor Restaurants and Marina.
