About Fins and Feathers Charters

Embark now on the fishing experience of a life-time! Whether you're a seasoned sport fishing veteran or a first timer, Fins & Feathers will make you feel comfortable aboard our charter boat.

ABOUT THE CAPTAIN: EXPERIENCE EQUALS SUCCESS!

Captain Jim Mulcahy (U.S.C.G licensed and insured) owns and operates Fins & Feathers Charters. He is a proven tournament winner that has been fishing South Florida and the Florida Keys for most of his life. He’s been a fishing guide for over 20 years and specializes in live bait fishing, a very exciting technique where baits are spread out all around the boat to target a variety of offshore saltwater game fish. Captain Jim also runs a live bait business. That means other captains and anglers come to him for frisky live baits such as Cigar Minnows, Ballyhoo and Goggle Eye – a Sailfish favorite.

RULES OF ENGAGEMENT:

All fish caught belong to the angler and will be cleaned and prepped by the captain at the end of your fishing trip. Fins and Feathers encourages anglers to release fish not intended for the table. All Sailfish are released alive.

BOAT INFO: STATE OF THE ART

Captain Jim Mulcahy fishes aboard a 2007, 34’ SeaVee named Twice Bitten. Powered by a reliable and powerful inboard diesel engine, she cruises at over 30mph. SeaVee’s are known for their soft, dry ride, so you’ll get to and from the fishing grounds quickly and safely. And for your comfort, there’s a large t-top to keep you sheltered from the hot Florida sun.

The Twice Bitten features an upper and lower helm station, allowing the captain to get to higher ground for a better view to spot the action at a distance. His efforts are aided by the latest marine electronics including state of the art color fishfinder, GPS chartplotter, VHF, radar, autopilot and more.

This tournament rigged fishing machine features an open layout offering anglers 360° of unobstructed fishing space. There’s no outboards or cuddy cabin to get in the way. A large capacity live well keeps your baits fresh and frisky all day. And there’s storage for over 45 rods & reels, a leaning post complete with a built-in tackle station, bait prep area and a slide-out cooler dedicated to food and drinks. We can comfortably accommodate up to 4 anglers.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING:

The captain provides everything you’ll need for a successful fishing trip including ice, fuel, a fishing license, tackle and bait. High quality rods and reels are always spooled with fresh line. No old or worn outfits that can jepordize the catch of a lifetime. Just bring food, drinks and sunscreen.

FISHING; THE EXPERIENCE:

Offshore Live Bait Fishing

Captain Jim Mulcahy specializes in live baiting and kite fishing, a very exciting and productive technique where live baits are drifted on one side of the boat while a kite or two are flown off the other side. With this technique there are a minimum of 6 live baits spread all around the boat, increasing your chances of hooking up with a variety of saltwater game fish.
