Capt. Mike Kozma has loved to fish since he was a little boy. His first fishing experiences started in Montana on summer vacations at the age of 2. By age 12 he was Fly Fishing. His love for fishing prompted him to start a guide business in Arizona where he guided Fly Fishing in the White Mountains, for rainbow trout, brown trout, Apache trout and small mouth bass. But the itch to fish more was so strong and on a vacation to the Florida Keys to visit family he went out with a backcountry fishing guide and new then what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. Capt. Mike and his wife packed up the bags and moved to the Keys. He has been offering Florida Keys backcountry fishing charters for eight years and loves every minute of it.
TESTIMONIALS:
Our family has been fishing with Captain Mike Kozma in the keys for over six years now, and I am more and more impressed with Mike every time we go out fishing with him. He has a true passion for finding and catching big fish, and he always seems to know where the fish are and how they are going to respond.
Mike is also a very versatile captain; he is master at both conventional and fly fishing, and he is equally comfortable guiding beginners and the most advanced anglers. Mike is an excellent fly fishing instructor, and he guided me for my first tarpon on fly. Mike is a real pleasure to be on the water with, and his light hearted personality makes the fishing experience with him truly enjoyable. Whether it is tarpon, bonefish, permit, snook, or redfish, Mike shows you the best way to make a presentation in order to maximize your chances of landing fish.
We have caught a lot of fish with Mike, and we continue to use him every time we come down to the keys. I would highly recommend Captain Mike Kozma to anyone interested in catching big fish in the keys.

Over the last six years I have had the opportunity to fly fish the Florida Keys, and especially Islamorada extensively. There a number of guides who are able to put anglers on fish, however there are only a few of you have the ability to teach all of the technical nuances of this sport. This not only includes the basics of casting, striking and fighting tarpon and bonefish, but also finding the patience and humor in pursuing this sport. I have watched you instruct both my wife and son, who were brand new to the sport, and watched your enthusiasm as they caught their first tarpon on fly. You have the uncanny ability to teach all levels of this sport. I want to thank you for these experiences with both me and my family and look forward to being on the bow of your skiff for years to come.
